Hello I am Miriam I have been given the opportunity to work at Blooms nursery which I'm really excited about! A little bit about me… I enjoy working with children as they are funny, sensitive, curious and love to explore. I value working closely with parents to support children’s needs and build a close relationship with families.
I understand the importance of children learning through hands-on experiences, so in my work, I love providing a rich variety of tailored sensory activities linking to children’s interest and topics to promote their learning. My nickname at my old nursery is Messy Mims as I normally get involved with the messy activities too! In the preschool classes I am looking forward to promoting cooking activities, dancing, singing and having fun in circle times to encourage confidence and independence. My favourite book is the mood monster which promotes freedom to feel and recognition of emotions the children may feel.
I love incorporating singing activities for group time to teach children to turn-take, share and respect each other. I am also very passionate about including nature in children's play as it instills calming effects and can facilitate mindfulness and peace; as well as stimulating learning and creating important connections with our natural world. I feel I bring laughter and fun to the children in my care; and I strive to remain very adaptable to their individual needs to best meet their developmental and learning needs.
I look forward to meeting the children and the team soon! Xxx Mims
